Aromafide - The Story Behind the Flame
Aromafide began in 2011, inspired by a single, beautiful soy candle. Discovering the harmful chemicals in many commercial candles ignited a passion to create natural alternatives. For the past ten years, we've poured our hearts into handcrafting high-quality, eco-friendly soy candles and other natural soy products. We're passionate about sharing the joy of natural fragrance and offer candle making classes and wholesale options. That first candle changed my life, and we're proud to continue providing beautiful, handmade, 100% natural candles for years to come.

Safety & Burning Instructions
Safe Candle Information and Why We Prefer to Use Soy Wax
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans.
After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
In addition to sustainability, a well-made soy candle will burn cooler, cleaner and slower.
While the performance and beauty of soy candles speak for themselves, soy wax is an absolute dream because it’s eco friendly, renewable, sustainable, carbon neutral, causes no habitat destruction and has no added palm oil.

-
The first burn of your candle is the most important because soy wax creates a ‘memory’
-
The first burn time must be long enough for the wax to completely liquefy across the full surface. This process can take several hours and it’s important you don’t extinguish the candle before this happens
-
Fragrance candles will have what’s called ‘wick mushrooming’. This is a ball of carbon on top of the wick and is normal
-
Always trim the wick back to approximately 5mm before you re-light your candle
-
Never re-light an untrimmed wick as it can splatter burning carbon which is dangerous
-
Do not leave your burning candle in a drafty area; this can cause your candle to burn unevenly. If this does occur, move your candle to another area. It may also be necessary to rotate and swirl the wax to soften any hard wax
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from flammable material, children and pets
-
Never burn a candle in a non-ventilated room
-
To extinguish the flame do not blow the flame out. Dip the wick into the wax pool, then lift out and straighten. You can also use a candle snuffer or the lid, but remember the flame will damage the inside of your wooden lid.
-
If your wick smokes or flickers repeatedly, extinguish the flame and allow candle to cool and reset. Trim wick and relight.
-
Place your candle on a protective mat or use the flat lid as a coaster. The glassware can become very hot, so please handle with care. If the glass is very hot, DO NOT move it as a change in temperature may crack the glassware. Extinguish and wait until cool and reset before relighting

Burn times quoted are just a guide and following the instructions above will help ensure the long life of your candle. There are many reasons that your candle doesn’t last as long as quoted, please get in touch if this has become a problem.
